Min Oh
Min Oh
(b. Seoul, North-Korea) is a story teller. She makes stories about tension
between two contradictory qualities — sweet but disturbing, naive but violent,
rational but personal, unreasonable but somehow reasonable. They constantly
conflict, but never leave each other. Instead, they keep a weird balance
between them. They live together almost everywhere, and every time. Since 2006,
she has exhibited her work in New York, Los Angeles, London, Beijing, Ningbo,
12 cities in Russia, Seoul including in 'DesignMade' by Korea Design Foundation
in 2009, 'Bauhaus Commuters' by Silke Opitz in 2009, 'Play on Screen' by
Moviehouse in 2009, 'Free Store' by Anna Stein & Athena Robles in 2009,
"Ningbo International Design Biennial" in 2008, “1st Contemporary
& Modern Art Juried Exhibition for Aspiring Korean-American Artists” in
2007, “The Sinew of Galaxy - Not Only for Lvxiao” in 2007 among
others. Currently she stays in Amsterdam hunting a lot of fun.
The video of Min Oh is showed in the basement of De Timmerfabriek, next to the work of Liesbet Bussche.

Koen Hauser
Koen Hauser (Leiden, 1972) is a multidisciplinary Dutch artist . In his surrealistic universe he creates people and animals who looks abnormal, abstract and mysterious; their faces or bodies are deconstructed or alienated but photographed and digital manipulated in a very aesthetic and delicate context. Beauty, death, childhood, past and science are key elements in the work of Hauser. His work can be admired at Marres, above the stairs to the basement.Lernert & Sander
Lernert & Sander are two dutch artists and friends who decided that working alone was getting boring and started collaborating on art related projects. Since their first video Chocolate Bunny they've been working on commercials, leaders, art movies, documentaries and installations. Their aim is to make simple and communicative works, that takes little note of the existing border between contemporary art and commercial projects. Their highly esthetic, humorous and dedicated works are often challenging the media and its viewer, in a simple but very effective way. Their work was selected for international festivals in New York, Rio de Janeiro and Oberhausen.
At Scope13 they present a charming and well crafted video they made with the famous italian tailors of Brioni, in order of the Handmade issue of Wallpaper* magazine this August. They came up with the idea that a hand would be the ultimate customer to prove the skills and craftmanship of a brand as Brioni.
Both
Lernert and Sander are contributors for Butt Magazine - also part of SALON/maastricht - and are currently
living and working in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Studio Guus Kusters & Maarten Kolk
Studio Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters is based in Klokgebouw, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Together they do practical design projects, as well as autonomous work. Living with nature, history, colour and environment are the foundation of their work. They don’t design specifically for the industry or the consumer, but try to materialize or tell about the things they would like to have around or that fascinates them.
The installation Studio GK & MK shows during SALON/maastricht calls Waddenzee - Eb (Low tide) and is located in the basement of Marres. In search of the character of the Wadden Sea, Maarten and Guus started to project the natural behavior of the sea on the production process of porcelain. “The tidal behavior of the sea is comparable to the production of ceramics; it’s a flow of clay and water repeating its process every 12 hours. What we liked about it that it seems that it all happens in the single ebb and flood movement; after every high tide the landscape seems new again.“Waddenzee” is a limited edition series of porcelain plates and cups inspired by the sea that lies in the north of the Netherlands, Germany and west of Denmark. The sea forms a shallow body of water with tidal flats and wetlands. The porcelain series portrays this unique nature area as well as it imitates its behavior. It consists of four porselain plates and a video.
