Last March a group of Dutch designers went to Istanbul for the pre-event workshop organized by SALON/. Students, manufacturers, brands and designers will participate in the workshop program and their results will be shown during the Istanbul Design Biennial in October 2012.
The group selected for the SALON/ workshop is a blend of fashion and product designers: Mattijs van Bergen, Pauline van Dongen, Vroonland, Desiree Hammen, Hyun Yeu, BCXSY, Antoine Peters, Borre Akkersdijk, Noman and Reinier Bosch & Marleen Folkert.
The first part of the SALON/workshop was a two day acquaintance between the designers from Amsterdam with eventual partners, to discover traditional and contemporary craft possibilities and more. The designers will produce new products based on their Istanbul experience for the next Istanbul Design Biennial.
